At Fire Engineering, Inc, & 3D Fire Sprinker Design we use computer aided drafting (CAD), to design fire protection systems. Our design programs of choice are SprinkCAD and HydraCAD which are designed to run in conjunction with AutoCAD, the most popular CAD system used by architects and engineers all over the world. These programs are fully functioning 2D & 3D programs, including hydraulic calculations and automatic material listing, that is designed to be compatible with interference coordination programs still in development. With our vast array of experience and the most current CAD and hydraulic calculation software Fire Engineering, Inc. & 3D Fire Sprinkler Design is positioned to meet all of your design and estimating needs. Fire Engineering, Inc. & 3D Fire Sprinkler Design works nationwide thru its office located in South Dakota. 

KEY STAFF

CRAIG TASCHNER, P.E. - Fire Protection Engineer – President
Mr. Taschner has been involved in the design of a vast array of fire protection systems through his work with fire sprinkler contractors, architects, and engineers over the past 11 years.  Mr. Taschner is a licensed professional engineer in the State of South Dakota & Iowa as a Fire Protection Engineer and also is licensed by NICET as a Level IV fire sprinkler system designer.  Mr. Taschner is dedicated to expanding the implementation of Fire Protection Engineering as an important part of any projects design and development process and as a means of ensuring the highest level of life safety is provided.  Through his work through Fire Engineering, Inc. and 3D Fire Sprinkler Design he will strive to provide the highest level of life safety and property loss protection for each project he is awarded.

STEVE GUGEL, NICET Level III, E.I.T.
Steve has been involved in the design process of mechanical systems for over 6 years. In 2005 he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Following graduation he worked as a design engineer and a project estimator for Smith Plumbing, Inc. in Pierre, SD. While there he utilized CAD software to produce in-house plumbing and hydronic designs for prefabrication and material orders. He also produced project estimates for bidding and change orders. Steve joined the Fire Engineering, Inc. team in 2006 and currently works as a Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer. Steve is a member of The Order of the Engineer and is an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) working towards his Professional Engineering and NICET Licensure.
